Julian Alps-Vršič pass-Trenta valley

Kranjska Gora is a lovely Alpine village and at the same time the leading winter sports resort of Slovenia, famous for the world ski cup races for men and the ski jumping cup in the nearby valley of Planica.
The scenic drive will take you across the Mt. Vršič Pass (1611 m above sea-level) towards the romantic Trenta valley. On the road you will see a little wooden Russian chapel built to recall the prisoners of war who died in an avalanche while building the road to support the WWI front on the Soča (Isonzo) river.
You can also visit the information centre of Triglav National park and a museum in the village of Trenta.
The road back will take you along the emerald Soča river through Bovec, over the Predil pass to Italy. On the way back a stop for shopping in Travisio.
Return to Bled.
