Škofja Loka and Idrija
The old town of Škofja Loka celebrated 1000 years of its glorious existence already in 1973. You can walk through the romantic old town.
The road continues through the green valley of Poljanska dolina until you reach the old mining town of Idrija, where mercury was produced until recently.
The technical museum has a fantastic display of the history of producing "quick silver". You will be able to watch the local women making their famous bobby lace, and then enjoy beautifully prepared food in one of the nicest restaurants of the century, the Kendov dvorec mansion.
