Slovenian riviera
The whole day excursion will take you to the coastline of the Slovenian Mediterranean, which is short but delightful and makes the Slovenians proud of it.
This is the warmest part of Slovenia, and stays green in winter as well. Before you descend to the coast you will have the most wonderful view over the northern Adriatic and be able to enjoy small historical Piran, which is the most beautiful and everyone's favorite medieval picturesque Slovenian Mediterranean town, set on the tip of a narrow peninsula. You will also have some time to enjoy and explore the small town by yourself. In the middle of this tighty packed town with narrow streets there is the remarkable Tartini square, surrounded by different style buildings, from Venetian Gothic to the 20th Century.
Above the town there is the dominating Church of St.George, another building connecting Piran with Venice.
Portorož (the Port of Roses) is a modern vacation resort with a large sandy beach, a pleasant spa, busy night life and many hotels and different sport facillities.
